The Mazahua area of the State of Mexico, artisans specialize in silver jewelry designed since the Colonial days of the country. Intricate jewelry is showned which are usually combined with semiprecious stones. Production techniques are traditional. Hand smithed. All silver Mexican earrings are beautiful, detailed repousse work throughout. Traditional elements are inspired by nature themes of the adornment of these indigenous and artistic people.

Many of the symbols express a particular idea or emotion. Some pairs are created with, among other things, lovebirds for eternal love, filigree is a commnon element which was brought by Spanish artisans during the colonial times. There are also other elements like: hands for friendship , which Frida Kahlo used often, garnets represent blood, flowers of sincerity, drops to represent water and life.
