Traditional elements are inspired by nature themes of the adornment of these indigenous and artistic people.

Many of the symbols express a particular idea or emotion. Some pairs have elements like, lovebirds for eternal love, hands for friendship , which Frida Kahlo used, garnets that represent blood, flowers of sincerity, drops for water and life. Filigree is a commnon element which was brought by Spanish artisans during the colonial times.

The use of these elements -- doves, flowers, hearts, and roses -- is part of the earliest jewelry designs of this indigenous group from Mexico.

These beautiful earrings have been designed and influenced by the long standing traditional adornments of the Mazahua people of Central Mexico. All earrings are made by local artisans who have been working for more than 100 years .
